Mango Shake

Filipino Style Recipe: mango shake is another sweet and refreshing beverage. This beverage is made of mango slices, milk, sugar and cubed ice. Best to served during summer season.

Estimated time of preparation: 5-8 minutes

Ingredients:
4 pieces ripe mango, peeled and sliced
2 cups ice cubes
1 cup evaporated milk(optional)
sugar or other sweetener to taste

Procedures:
1. In a blender, process mango, milk, sugar and some ice until blended.
2. Add more ice until smooth then pour into glasses then served cold.

Watermelon Smoothie

Filipino Style Recipe: watermelon smoothie or watermelon shake is another sweet and refreshing beverage. This beverage is made of watermelon chunks, milk, sugar and cubed ice. Best to served during summer season.

Ingredients:
watermelon chunks, discard seeds
ice cubes
evaporated milk(optional)
sugar or other sweetener to taste

Procedures:
1. In a blender, process watermelon, milk, sugar and some ice until blended.
2. Add more ice until smooth then pour into glasses then served cold.

Milk Tea

Filipino Style Recipe: milk tea is a sweet and creamy refreshing beverage. This milk tea combines milk, brewed tea, sugar syrup and tapioca pearls to create a sweet drink.

Estimated time of preparation and cooking: 10-12 minutes
Good for 3-5 servings

Ingredients:
3/4 cup brewed tea(preferably black tea)
1 cup ice cubes
2 tablespoons sugar syrup(see recipe below)
1/2 cup soy milk or evaporated milk
1/4 cup black tapioca pearls(optional)

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a blender or cocktail shaker, combine tea, milk, syrup and ice. Blend or shake until frothy.

Part 2.
1. In a glass, place tapioca pearls and milk-tea mixture. Serve cold!

Sugar Syrup:
Ingredients:
2 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups water

Procedures:
1. In a saucepan, combine ingredients then simmer over medium heat until dissolved. Stir.
2. Let it cool. Set aside.

Mango Sago

Filipino Style Recipe: mango sago is a refreshing dessert that usually served during summer season. Usually the ripe mangoes cut into cubes then mix with mango juice, milk, sugar and tapioca pearls.

Estimated time of preparation and cooking: 20-25 minutes(plus soaking time)
Good for 3-4 servings

Ingredients:
2 sweet ripe mangoes, peel and cut into cubes
4 tablespoons tapioca pearls(sago), soak in water for 3 hours
125 ml evaporated milk
200 ml mango juice
50 ml water
3 tablespoons sugar

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a pot, boil water on medium heat then add tapioca pearls. Cook for 15 minutes.
2. Stir constantly and make sure they don’t stick together. The pearls should turn clear when they’re cooked.
3. Drain tapioca pearls and transfer to a bowl of cold water.

Part 2
1. Blended the half of mango cubes, mango juice, sugar, water and milk.
2. Transfer to mixing bowl, Add remaining mango cubes and tapioca pearls and stir until well blended.
3. Refrigerate before serving.
