Oven-Baked Potato Wedges

Ingredients:
4 medium-sized unpeeled potatoes, cleaned
1 raw egg, beaten
6 tablespoons olive oil

Dry Mixture:
3 tablespoons cornstarch/cornflour
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or paprika
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and ground pepper to taste

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a bowl, combine dry mixture then mix until well combined. Set aside.
2.Prepare beaten egg into a separate bowl.
3. Dip potato wedges in beaten eggs then dredge into dry mixture to coat.
4. Repeat for the remaining pieces.

Part 2
1. In a baking pan, arrange potato wedges then drizzle with olive oil.
2. Bake in a preheated oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
3. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Baked Kamote Fries

Baked in a preheat oven for 30 minutes or until browned and crisp then serve as snack, appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients:
3 large-sized sweet potatoes(kamote), peeled and cut into slices
1/2 cup cornstarch
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cayenne powder

Procedures:
1. In a large bowl, combine potatoes and cornstarch then stir to coat evenly. Strain to remove excess cornstarch.
2. In a separate bowl, combine potatoes, olive oil, cayenne and salt then toss to coat evenly.
3. Arrange in grease baking sheet then bake in a preheated oven over 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. (15 minutes each side or until browned).
4. Turn off the heat then let it cool inside the oven for another 15 minutes. Serve with dipping sauce.

Potato Chips

Filipino Style Recipe: Potato chip is a popular snack that consists of thin slices of potatoes. The chips deep fried until golden brown and crispy. The basic potato chips are seasoned with salt; other varieties are flavored in cheese, herbs, sour cream and other seasonings. This is commonly served as snack, appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients:
6 pieces potatoes, cleaned
cold water
salt to taste
cooking oil for frying

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a large container, pour cold water then add a dash of salt. Stir until dissolve.
2. Using a slicer, slice the potatoes into thin slices then soak them in cold salted water for an hour.
3. Pat the potatoes very dry with paper towels.

Part 2
1. In a frying pan, heat oil then deep fry potatoes until golden brown and crispy.
2. Drain on paper towels then sprinkle with salt. Transfer to serving bowl then serve with your favorite dip.

Taho

Filipino Style Recipe: Taho or tauhue is another popular Filipino snack originate from Chinese and commonly sold along the streets specially every morning. Taho is usually made of soy beans or extra soft tofu which is available in grocery stores. Traditionally this is usually serve warm with sago pearls and sugar syrup.

Ingredients:
3 cups extra soft tofu
1/2 cup sago or tapioca pearls

Brown Sugar Syrup(Arnibal):
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla(optional)

Procedures:
Part 1
1. Soak sago pearls in water for 3 hours then cook in boiling water for 15 minutes or until turn clear.
2. Stir constantly to prevent sticking then drain and transfer to a bowl of cold water. Set aside

Part 2
1. In a pan, boil water then add brown sugar and vanilla. Mix well until dissolves. Set aside.

Part 3
1. In a steamer heat extra soft tofu for 10 minutes or in microwave for 2 minutes.
2. In a glass or bowl, transfer tofu then top with sago pearls and brown sugar syrup. Mix then serve warm.
