Sizzling Tofu Sisig


Ingredients:
400 grams firm tofu, cut into cubed
1 red bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1 green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
1 medium sized yellow onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon butter
Cooking oil for frying
1-2 pieces bird’s eye chili

Sauce:
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon liquid seasoning
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients and set aside.

Part 2
1. In a frying pan, heat oil then fry tofu until light brown. Drain and set aside.

Part 3
1. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil then saute onion and bell pepper.
2. Add fried tofu and stir cook for a minute.
3. Add 1/2 of sauce mixture then stir cook for another minute.

Part 4
1. In a hot sizzling plate, melt butter then transfer tofu mixture.
2. Add remaining sauce mixture then toss.
3. Topped with bird’s eye chili then serve hot immediately.

Tofu Kimchi Stew


Ingredients:
250 grams pork liempo, cut into small bite size pieces
2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chili paste (gochujang)
1 tablespoon bean paste (ssamjang)
onion leeks, chopped
1/4 cup kimchi
tofu, fried and diced
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste

Procedures:
1. In a pot, heat oil then saute garlic and onion.
2. Add pork and continue sauteing until light brown.
3. Add chili paste, bean paste and onion leek then stir cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add kimchi, fried tofu and water then simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Adjust seasoning according to taste.

Stir Cooked Tofu and Spinach


Ingredients:
300 grams tokwa (firm tofu), cut into cubes
100 grams pork belly, cut into small pieces(optional)
a bunch of water spinach, trimmed
4 tablespoons oyster sauce
1/4 cup water
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
4 tablespoons cooking oil
salt and pepper to taste
a dash of chili flakes(optional)

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a pan, heat oil then stir fry pork until light brown. Remove and set aside.

Part 2
1. In a same pan, saute garlic and onion.
2. Add tofu then stir cook for 3 minutes. Put back the pork then add oyster sauce, water and chili flakes.
3. Adjust seasoning according to taste then cook for a minute.
4. Add spinach then simmer for another minute. Serve.

Spicy Eggplants, Beans and Tofu


Ingredients:
2 pieces eggplants, cut into serving pieces
200 grams firm tofu, sliced and fried
1 tablespoon precooked black beans, washed
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
2-3 pieces red chili
10 pieces basil leaves
1/2 cup vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste

Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or black vinegar
2 tablespoons rice wine
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Set aside.

Part 2
1. In a pan, heat oil saute garlic until fragrant.
2. Add eggplants then stir cook until starts to soften.
3. Add black beans, bell pepper, red chili and tofu.
4. Pour the sauce then simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes or until thickened. Add water if necessary.
5. Add basil then adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
6. Serve with steamed rice.

Sizzling Tokwa


Ingredients:
Tokwa or Firm tofu, cut into cubes
1 red bell pepper, cut into cubes
2 green chili (siling haba), slice diagonally
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 bundle Spinach
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce and honey then mix until well blended. Set aside.

Part 2
1. In a pan, heat oil then stir fry tokwa until light brown. Set aside.
2. Saute onion, red bell pepper then put back fried tokwa.
3. Pour the sauce the toss to combine then add spinach.
4. Put in a hot sizzling plate then garnish with green chili. Serve!

Adobong Sitaw at Tofu

Filipino Style Recipe: Adobong sitaw at tofu is another variant of Filipino adobo. It consist of string beans and tofu braised in soy sauce, vinegar and spices.

Ingredients:
250 grams firm tofu, cut into serving pieces
1 bunch string beans(sitaw), cut into 2-inch lengths and ends discarded
1 head garlic, minced
1 medium onion, sliced
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons of vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 bay leaves
10 whole black pepper
1 tablespoon butter
sugar and salt to taste

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a pan, melt butter then fry tofu until light brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Part 2
1. In a same pan, add garlic and onion then saute until translucent.
2. Put back fried tofu then pour water, soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaf and pepper then simmer for 3 minutes.
3. Add string beans, stir and simmer for another 8-10 minutes or until string beans in tender.
4. Season with sugar and salt according to taste.
5. Transfer to serving bowl. Serve hot and enjoy!

Stir Cooked Bok Choy and Tofu

1/4 cup water

Part 2
1. In a pan, heat oil then fry tofu until light brown, drain and set aside.

Part 3
1. In a same pan, reduce oil then sauce garlic and onion.
2. Add bok choy, asparagus, carrots and tofu then pour sauce mixture.
3. Simmer in a low heat for 3-5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
4. Adjust seasoning according to taste then transfer to serving plate. Serve immediately.

Procedures:
Part 1
1. In a bowl, combine, cornstarch, sesame oil, oyster sauce, soy sauce and vinegar. Mix until well combined. Set aside.

Part 2
1. In a bowl, combine cornstarch, salt and ground pepper then mix well.
2. Dredge tofu into cornstarch mixture to coat all sides. Shake off to remove excess cornstarch.
3. In a pan, heat vegetable oil then fry tofu for 3-5 minutes or until light brown. Drain and set aside.

Part 3
1. In a pan, heat sesame oil then saute garlic and onion. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2. In a same pan, stir cook mushroom and asparagus for 3 minutes or until almost tender.
3. Put back fried tofu, garlic and onion then add cornstarch sauce. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
4. Stir cook until almost thickens. Transfer to serving plate then sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve.

Spicy Salt and Pepper Tofu

2. In another bowl, combine cornstarch, salt and pepper then toss tofu until coat evenly.

Part 2
1. In a frying pan, heat oil and fry tofu for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
2. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Part 3
1. In a pan, heat oil and saute garlic, spring onions, dried rosemary and chili flakes.
2. Add soy sauce, brown sugar then cook for a few seconds.
3. Add fried tofu and dried basil then toss.
4. Remove form heat then transfer to serving plate. Serve with your favorite dip.

Tofu and Pechay in Oyster Sauce

2. In a same pan, stir fry pork until brown then season with fish sauce. Set aside.

Part 2
1. In a same pan, reduce oil then saute garlic and onion.
2. Put back the pork and tofu then add oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, chili flakes and peanuts.
3. Add bell peppers then cook for 2 minutes then adjust seasoning according to taste.
4. Add pechay then simmer for another minute.
5. Transfer to serving plate then sprinkle with remaining chopped peanuts and spring onion. Serve with steamed rice.
